Educational Qualifications:
English reporter
(1) A bachelor’s degree is a must. ii) Passing the Government Technical Examination in English Shorthand at a high speed of 180 words per minute. iii) Assuming that any remaining variables are equivalent, the inclination will be given to the people who have breezed through the Public authority Specialized Assessment in typing in English by the Senior Grade.
Jailor (Men) and Jailor (Extraordinary Jail for Ladies) any degree conceded by a school or college that has been endorsed by the College Awards Commission. In the event that any remaining elements are equivalent, the inclination will be given to candidates with a Graduate degree in criminal science and law enforcement organization, with those with a Graduate degree in friendly work getting a second inclination.
Tamil Reporter (1) A bachelor’s degree is a must. ii) Passing the Government Technical Examination in Tamil Shorthand by a high-speed exam of 120 words per minute iii) Passing the Senior Grade Government Technical Examination in Tamil Typewriting People who are certified to report in English will be given precedence, all other things being equal.

- Level 18: Jailor (Men) and Jailor (Special Prison for Women): Rs. 36,900 – 1,35,100 (Revised scale)
- English & Tamil Reporter, Rs. 56,100 – 2,05,700 (Level 22) (Revised scale)
